About Polr Labs
Practical tools, with the important details left in.
Polr Labs builds free browser-based utilities for everyday digital tasks. The goal is a short workflow, a useful result, and enough plain-language guidance to help people use that result safely and reliably.
Tools we maintain
The site currently offers a QR code generator and an image background remover. We publish completed workflows rather than placeholders for unfinished products.
Browser-first processing
QR values are rendered in the browser. Selected photos are processed on the device by the background-removal workflow and are not uploaded to Polr Labs for processing.
Useful supporting content
Guides and FAQs explain scan testing, safe sharing, source-image preparation, file limits, and realistic tool limitations.
Editorial standards
How our guides are created and reviewed
Polr Labs is responsible for the content published on this site. Guides are written specifically for the available tools and reviewed against the live interface, supported formats, privacy behaviour, and known limitations.
- We check instructions against the current tool instead of describing features the site does not provide.
- We prefer standards bodies, government security guidance, and first-party technical documentation for factual references.
- We label automated outputs as estimates and explain when testing or manual review is still needed.
- We show the latest review date on each guide and update material when a tool or relevant reference changes.
